My kids finally broke some of the chairs that came with their old table (they love to wiggle on chairs and dance, on chairs to standing, prams, deckchairs) and they finally gave up the ghost. The first thing that struck me was that the table and chairs were solid pine. Not bad, looks very solid and the table has a nice crisp finish. The chairs are also painted quite well. Secondly, I noticed that the holes weren't drilled correctly, some of them are VERY misaligned on the chairs. I had to do a bit of drilling to do this, which took me quite a bit of time. I think I had to redrill a total of 7 holes, which doesn't bode well. But all said and done (including the wasted time re-drilling the holes) I end up with a pretty solid table and chairs that look great, only disappointed that I had to redo the chairs to get the pieces to fit together.
