I use it as a pre-filter for my external drip irrigation system. Our deep well usually has fine particles that end up in the aerators around the house, but when I let this water into my drip irrigation system, it clogs the drip lines. Before that I used ordinary mesh filters. Backwash on it, but never had one with a spring-loaded backwash that aerates the screen as much as this one. You can see how it works when you wash it. It's also great that you can see the particles left on the bottom of the bowl before you rinse them off, so you know they may need to be rinsed out. I have a half acre yard with 2,000 feet of drip lines that average out about 2,500 gallons of water per week. . I wash it off once or twice a week when it suits. I have had no loss of pressure in my header lines (like my previous strainer) since using this product.
