A friend highly recommended Anova Sous Vide but when the unit arrived it had a very strong chemical plastic smell that was literally throughout the house. When a plastic-coated electronic device has this odor, it usually goes away after the first use. The smell of Anova Sous Vide hasn't diminished even after a few uses. We contacted Anova about the exchange. The new Anova Sous Vide has finally arrived and it was marked as refurbished and not the new one we paid for. When we complained to Anova, they replied that the block we sent back never arrived. We used the label sent to us by Anova, it was received by Fed Ex and we can track the return back to Anova.
