It's a shame when a product manufacturer sells a part for their own product and it doesn't FIT! I bought an all-metal extruder for my month-old Ender 5 plus and can't install it because a screw that came with it is too short. The hex bolt that is the fulcrum of the spring load roller is so short that it won't fit more than 1/2 thread into the stepper motor. The screw is an M3 x 18mm screw that needs to be AT LEAST 22mm long to hold properly. If you buy this kit, please also buy a longer screw! For example 22-25mm (You need to check the depth of the hole in the motor. Also, the reel bearing assembly is not properly aligned with the filament hole in the frame. It looks like there is a small shim or washer under the reel that is needed for a better one Alignment (this is a minor detail compared to the other two). The second issue is that the drive gear is a set screw and my printer has a press fit gear. Once again they failed. I have a choice: buy a new Junk 42 -40 or use the old motor and transmission (which I will do).
