I started in size XXL (which I think was recommended in the size chart). Gigantic. I downsized to XL. Fits a lot better but still a bit big to be honest. The L would probably be too small, so I ended up here. This informal, modest protective jacket has many features such as ventilation zips, gussets (?) on the shoulders for freedom of movement, etc. Add your own armor. It can be obtained quite cheaply. Mine was very wrinkled and the ice never smoothed out the creases. Yes, it's just a motorcycle jacket, but it's still a bummer. Overall for the price and if you can find the right size I think it's a very good deal.
