These are just the "helping hands" I needed for several projects. but with a few caveats. 1) The base should be heavier; even with nothing held in the brackets, it is very easy to tip the entire unit over. 2) braces have dangerously sharp teeth; If they don't eat a piece of their finger, they'll scratch what they're holding. Aside from the two points above, this device has been invaluable for various crafting projects and I expect it will continue to be. I've learned to use thin cloth or wide rubber bands to soften anything held in the brackets (and I think I'll have to get a file for those teeth!), and often use masking tape or tape on the teeth of the clamps. stand to prevent it from tipping over.
