These hooks are the best! I live in an east facing apartment and I can't drill holes in the walls. I used 3 hooks to hang black curtains. The blackout curtains were 54 x 86, 2 panels, total weight 4 lbs. I also order these from Revain and just noticed the item weight/shipping weight. The cafe bar is 7/16 in diameter and adjustable in width from 48 to 86 and is perfect for the hook. I originally ordered a 7/8 rod for a coffee shop but it was too thick for the hook so you want to use something smaller than a 7/8 rod. I have a smaller cafe curtain rod in the bath with the bed and beyond. I used 3 just in case but I could have used 2 hooks. I can open and close the curtains very easily and there is no sign of instability. I followed the command's instructions (press for 10 seconds, remove hook, press for 30 seconds, reset hook, leave for 1 hour) before hanging the curtains, so I think that helped too.
