I recently found a piece of wire stuck in the sidewall of the rear wheel on my zero turn mower. The tire has less than a full season in service so I was looking for an alternative to "FIXING" my sidewall hole rather than removing it and patching or replacing it. After reviewing several different products, I decided to try Multi Seal. After reading the instructions, I removed the valve that came with the bottle. It was a little confusing, but the tool is essentially a "stopper" for a clear tube in a bottle. After removing the valve from the stem, I connected a clear hose to the stem and began squeezing the product into the tire. I was surprised at how easily it blends into the tire. It was a lot easier than other tire sealants I've used. While using half a bottle in the rear tire is recommended, I used significantly more. I wanted to make sure the sealant got to the side panel. When I finished adding the product, I replaced the stem valve and inflated the tire to the recommended pressure. At this point I pulled the wire out of the tire. I started the mower and drove it for a few minutes. When I stopped, the product started pouring out of the tire through the puncture. I actually had another unknown flat tire with traces of the Multi Seal product. A few minutes later, air was still coming out of the punctures, so I ended up riding the mower for 10-15 minutes. It seemed to help. After a week and 1.5 hours of operation, the tire is still inflated. This product is the BEST tire sealant I have ever used. I will add it to all my non-road tires that I have.
