I love these bottles. They work better than any other brand I've tried and seem able to withstand the abuse of multiple parrots. I don't use the wire brackets that come with them, my birds can break them in a jiffy. Instead, I use heavy-duty Velcro straps. But with all bottles, there are some simple precautions. First, make sure they work every time you hang them. Tap the spout tip to ensure water comes out. I also give all my birds a bowl of fresh water every day just in case they need it and also for them to bathe in. Birds can stuff things in there, so you have to make sure they get water from there every day. Change the water often or it will build up. Clean the inside with a bottle brush or they will grow. I also use hot water and Efferdent tablets to clean them. Whatever you use, rinse it well so your pets don't get the chemicals. The little floating plastic turtle is easy to remove by filling the bottle and turning it upside down. The water pulls it out or to the bottom of the bottle where it can be removed. They usually fall out when I clean. Clean the nozzle with a cotton swab or a special brush. As with anything pet care related, success depends on your habits.
