Review on ๐Ÿš— Dorman 520-161 Front Left Lower Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly: Top Choice for Chevy, Pontiac, and Suzuki Models by Deep Echemendia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits perfectly on my 2006 Chevy Aveo

Fits perfectly on my 2006 Chevy Aveo, looks and feels just as good as the OEM. As mentioned in the previous review, you will need a jack to raise the transmission. about 1 inch to remove the driver's side front mounting bolt. Caution: If you tighten the bots to specification (81 lb ft), you can strip the rear mounting bolt nut (welded to the frame). If this happens, don't despair, simply reuse the nut you removed from the old ball mount nut hinge on the control lever. Just put on the welded nut, the length of the screw is enough. The new arm comes with a new ball joint nut. I was lucky I didn't have any rust or seized screws so the whole job only took about two hours. I'm not a mechanic (I work in an office), I'm sure someone who does this every day can complete this task much faster. Oh, I forgot to mention that you will also need a ball joint splitter to complete the job. Go to your local AutoZone and they will give you this tool for free!

Pros
  • Control Lever
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
