I don't know why these companies don't make parts where the size of the screw used doesn't affect the orientation of the bracket. I always try to use the biggest screw to make the frame as strong as possible. However, large screws often have a large head that does not fit in the beveled hole provided. You must do this so the screws don't interfere with the connection points of the brackets. The small surface area of the bracket also encourages the bracket to sink into the wood and flex as you drive the screws. Not much room for error. I would like to see an improvement.
