The pivoting flex pipe is a nice feature, as is the 360 degree pan head. The lamp gives off bright light and can be aimed in almost any direction. The only compromise (reason for 4 stars) is the mounting base. The plastic base is designed to be fixed to a flat surface with fasteners. Compared to other parts of the lamp, the base looks fragile. Since I had a unique mounting scheme, I cut off the bottom of the base and stuck a hollow threaded rod (the kind commonly used in many table lamps) into the rest. . A two part epoxy was applied to the threaded rod as it was inserted into the lamp base. In this configuration, the lamp was easily attached through a 0.50 inch diameter hole.
