Mounting issues in HEAVY environments

I just bought a new e-bike and wanted a lock that I could trust to work and protect it. I made a lot of purchases for the right thing and ABUS was recommended to me. For over $100 I tried to find something just as good and saved a few bucks. I came across the Foldylock thinking it was comparable to ABUS and I liked that it came with a mount so I could attach it to my bike. The package was delivered and it was WOW! After unpacking the bike I tried to mount it on my bike but the shape of my step bar is oval and it kept sliding. My bike didn't have pre-drilled holes to attach it so I didn't have many options and the tote bag wouldn't solve the problem. I was at a bike shop and found a tubular padded bag from ABUS that was being sold for their chain locks. I double checked the size and decided to get it so I can either install it in my front basket or under the seat. I tied it to my front basket at first but that really added weight. heavy out of the basket that holds the battery on this e-bike. I also carry my wallet, keys, iPhone and tools in one basket and the padlock just takes up more space, especially since I don't use it much yet. I installed it under my seat yesterday using the ABUS mount and velcro and I think it will be fine and I'm very happy to have extra space in my basket. Finally. Yes, Foldylock is a strong bike lock and I'm sure it will protect my bike. I suppose if you are considering a foldylock or similar lock be aware that it is VERY HEAVY and how and where you try to install it is a big part of the purchase.
