Good for charging and peripherals
I use this extension cable with Cable Matters USB-C Multiport Adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y5N3YCD/) to add a 4k display, USB and Ethernet to plug in and power my Macbook Pro 2017. It doesn't charge from the USB-C port on the top left, but that's probably a defect in the laptop. It works reliably and offers fast charging via the port on the bottom left.
