Review on πŸ”₯ Icepc DIY Heatsink Silicone Thermal 70X20X2Mm: Optimal Cooling Solution for Electronics by Sean Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation - lower operating temperature by 10 degrees.

System Configuration: Dell G5 SE (5505) Laptop - Ryzen 5 4600H and Radeon RX5600mCrucial P5 500GB in the second M.2 slot I removed the sticker from the drive and laid down the thermal pad. A heatsink has been added at the top. I added 5 strips supplied (I probably only needed one of the two sets supplied, but why not?). Very easy assembly and good fit. One of the main reasons I'm writing this review is to let people know that it fits my laptop model. I really had to guess and I wanted people to know it worked for me. The temperature of the P5 drive dropped by 10 degrees (Celsius) under load. The drive also produces excellent numbers. I added my CrystalMark and CrystalInfo screenshots. Couldn't be happier! For other Dell G5 5500 series owners, there is another heatsink from Deal4GO on Revain that actually looks like an OEM heatsink. It's more expensive and has less metal/finish than this one. However, the fit looks perfect with it. I would still go to this product because it suits me but thought I'd mention it.

Pros
  • Put a silicone cooling pad between the heatsink and the SSD to prevent damage to the SSD and protect the SSD particles, which can effectively extend the life of your SSD.
Cons
  • No performance
