1300 G2 DOA from main stream to mobo, but perfs works.

Computer Pack: Asus IV Rampage Black Edition with 2x 780 kingpins (underwater). Yes, I know it's a bit old, but it still works. I've been building computers (both dry and underwater) for many years. My current one uses two 780 ti kingpins, both submerged. I had a PSU (Corsair 1200) that overheated after 5 years of use and is no longer usable. So I bought the EVGA 1300 G2 thinking I had a little more power. I used my trusted test adapter on the mobo power cord and was able to start both water pumps. After a 24-hour water cycle test, it's time for real business. Added 4-pin and 8-pin CPU connectors to the board, as well as a single 24-pin connector. Power on and switch pressed. I heard the sound of a single click and then nothing. I thought it was an accident. I unplugged the cables and checked everything again. Plug the cables back in. Nothing. There was a 1x click from the power supply. I thought this was normal for EVGA power supplies. Hm. So I pulled out a fairly old computer (P5Q3 with a 260 card in it). This computer has 700 psu seasonally. Well, I changed the PSU. I plugged in the EVGA power supply and plugged in the power cords. I thought that if this works at some point, the old computer might not last much longer (a lot of dust). Well the same thing happened. Just one click and nothing more. I took the Seasonic 700 power supply and reconnected it to the P5q3 board. He ran like a champion. What the hell EVGA! The Seasonic 700 still runs off your EVGA 1300 because it works and yours doesn't. Sorry EVGA. Love your graphics cards but the power supply is back. I will probably use a Corsair power supply. 1200 was good. This product was in its original packaging and is brand new. Never used. It left the factory as a bad product. Quality control is an issue.

Cons
  • Good but not great
