Stop robots! Best Telephones and Accessories

I bought this device for one reason: to stop robots. And he does it very well! Although we rarely use it, we wanted to keep our land line as we have had this number for over 30 years. The problem is that robots call dozens of times a day. I've tried different blocking services but none of them are worth the money. I chose to install a device that prompts the caller to dial a code. Calling robots won't be able to answer that, but living humans will. I do not use any extension functions of this PBX. All I did was plug it into my incoming phone line and then plug the rest of my house wiring into expansion port 2. Then I added an automatic greeting to the system that said something like "If you're not telemarketing and to speak to us, press 2". When the caller presses 2, the caller switches and the home phones ring Otherwise the call will end. The system does exactly that and stops ALL robot calls. In fact, I've only had one live telemarketer brave enough to press 2 and get through. The only annoyance with this device is that there are no callers ID supported. Note there is a more expensive model that does this but this particular model does not. The documentation mentions caller ID but it is only meant to show an internal extension if you are using it with multiple extensions for internal calls Since all my phones at home are connected to the same extension I don't even use this feature To be honest I find the lack of a caller id to be ok as only very few people call their private phone. I also use a Verizon Wireless Home Phone adapter so I still only get the caller's number. Overall I am very happy with this device and it does what I wanted - stops all robocalls!

Pros
  • 2 CO lines x 8 extensions, automatic telephone system.
Cons
  • Vulgarity
