This is a mandatory upgrade for the switch, the original latches are plastic and constant joystick removal wears out to such an extent that the joysticks pop out of the guides with little or no pressure, with this replacement that's out are metal! As it should, my joycons stay in the rails as they should, but to install them you have to open your joycons and disassemble some components to get the latches. BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE FASTENERS, THE FEATHERS MAY FLY, BE PREPARED! This is an intermediate setup depending on your electronics knowledge
