I bought this hybrid drive for my (bought used) Lenovo N586 laptop as an inexpensive alternative performance upgrade; (Rather than spending a lot more for a full SSD that would only be a quarter of the capacity of this drive. By first upgrading the processor (AMD APU) from an A6-4400m to an A10-4600m I got this HDD and thought I could it beat the 21 second boot time I got with a factory HGST SATA 5400rpm drive Seagate is SATA II (6Gb/s) Now that I have 10-12 full downloads with the new drive I can see my boot time is correct at 17 seconds.Of course I haven't added any software applications to the laptop Aside from replacing the McAfee demo antivirus with Avast Free AntiVirus.I think I could see the boot times changing as the number increases of applications. However, 17 seconds to start Windows 8.1 seems pretty impressive to me.
