Now that I get a good 10-12 full charges with the new drive

I bought this hybrid drive for my (bought used) Lenovo N586 laptop as an inexpensive alternative performance upgrade; (Rather than spending a lot more for a full SSD that would only be a quarter of the capacity of this drive. By first upgrading the processor (AMD APU) from an A6-4400m to an A10-4600m I got this HDD and thought I could it beat the 21 second boot time I got with a factory HGST SATA 5400rpm drive Seagate is SATA II (6Gb/s) Now that I have 10-12 full downloads with the new drive I…

The Seagate software doesn't work on my laptop. Support helped fix

Updated in Responses. Support provided me the right disk cloning software and it worked. Upgrade from 1* to 5*. First rating: Maybe a great disc. Hopefully. The Seagate website has simple instructions on how to clone an existing laptop drive to this drive using a USB cable. Unfortunately, the Seagate Drive Wizard doesn't run on my Windows 7 laptop and prompts me to connect a Seagate drive. It is plugged in and seen by Windows 7 as a Seagate SATA bridge, USB key and 1TB hard drive. I bought this

Small improvement without spending $$$ on SSDs

I have a 2.5" Western Digital 750GB 7200RPM Scorpio Black in my Dell E6510 quad core 1.73GHz laptop. A cold boot typically took about 90 seconds for the laptop to be ready. The new Seagate reduces the cold start time by about 20 seconds. I've noticed that programs start/quit faster; but no more than 10-20%. The extra 250GB of storage will be a plus going forward (you never have too much storage). I used a free copy of Macrium Reflect software and a CoolGear Sata to Sata HDD/SSD Sector Cloner to

Seagate STBD1000400 SSHD

Great drive, economical, works as expected. As expected it fits my Asus Rog G750, I'm pretty sure it will fit any laptop. For a second I thought there are 2 different partitions on this drive, as the title says, 8GB SSD and the rest is HDD, so I can install Windows on the 8GB SSD and use the rest for media and stuff. NO! It's a single partition disk! Pros: It's faster than traditional 7200 RPM discs. A lightweight. Cons: It's not as fast as a REAL SSD. (I bought this drive as a transition drive

Great for speeding up and no heat gain

Bought this solely for PS4 use, they come with standard 5400rpm drives and wanted to stay at that speed due to heat issues (since Sony puts a PSU in the console, that's very hot). In terms of characteristics, it is very similar to a 7200 drive and costs a lot. I've had no issues with it and got a slight performance boost when loading my PS4/running games. Recommended if you are looking for an upgrade and are concerned about your PS4 overheating, this is also a great drive for any laptop. with…

Seagate 500GB 2.5 " Hard Drive (PS3 Worthy)

One of the highest quality hard drives on the market for PS3 Slim upgrade. I've never had the chance to test it on a PS3 Phat, so I'm in the dark on this model. The Seagate 500GB 2.5 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive does a great job of expanding and boosting the performance of your PS3. Slim. With so many GB of storage, download times will be smoother and downloads much easier and more timely. Make sure you stick to 5400 RPM for PS3, anything higher can cause crashes and overheating issues, 5400 is the…

Pros
  • Finally bought it
