Spectrum recently told locals that we need a cable box on every TV to receive cable. We needed something for the kitchen TV and didn't want to pay for cable TV. We live 40 miles from Tampa, 50 miles from Orlando. I thought we could get 8-10 local channels with it. Not correct. I've put the "aerials" in the window and tried other positions and we have 3 channels at most: local news, a movie channel and a channel that only shows old shows like The Andy Griffith Show. Can't remember the names of the calls. So I turned it off and bought ROKA - I suddenly became wiser - and plugged it in. Well boys! Grab your Roku and plug it in. No cable box! Since we have Spectrum Internet/Wi-Fi, Roku works just like a Spectrum TV that plugs into your computer, whether it's a desktop or laptop. Roku costs a little more money, but it's worth it and definitely pays for itself when the cable is $15 plus tax and miscellaneous fees per month per box. I received a refurbished Roku from the Revain store and it is like new. It's so annoying that the cable makes us its victims, imposes a cable on us and keeps increasing the cost. Talk about monopoly! Buy a Roku is my best advice to everyone. I will be removing the cable box in one bedroom and replacing it with a Roku.
