Review on ๐Ÿšด MICTUNING Universal Rear Tailgate Pad for Bike Transportation, with Tool Pocket - Mountain Bike Tailgate Protection Pad, Accommodating up to 5 Bikes by Marcus Akram

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The straps are sewn on the wrong side. Bow!

So the padding is excellent, it seems all the material is stitched very well. It seems solid, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to test it. The biggest drawback here is the design of the shoulder straps. You are literally backward. There is a Velcro fastener on the trunk lock. It has a large Velcro closure and is fairly secure. However, the straps that attach the entire piece to the tailgate have long straps on the side with the tailgate latch. This means you have to slide the strap through the gap between the tailgate and the truck bed to secure the product. You MUST have two people. Still, I can't think of a logical way to get it there. When there was a noise, I had to pick up my daughter on her bike. We just didn't leave it buckled and I have to say the bike didn't move. Not exactly sure if it was a good velcro on the rack or other things in the back of the truck, but the bike didn't bounce even a little for about 1/2 a mile on the rough gravel road. It seems minor and I thought I would turn the product front to back but then you cannot open the latch because the latch only opens on one side. Either move the flap or swap the straps (the straps are best). Unfortunately I thought I was and missed the 30 day window to get it back. I would if I could. This cannot be continued on long journeys unless we allow it. Oh, and no hole for the camera. It would be better if we could open a smaller valve so the camera could show it. I do not recommend buying this.
