Hello, I am a part-time photographer with many years of experience in film and digital. I bought the GH1 body at a good price right after the GH2 and 14-45mm zoom came out. I prefer the GH1 because its lower resolution sensor produces less noise than the GH2 (DxOMark sensor test), and the 14-45mm lens for its reputation. I use my camera and zoom (quite often) when I want to travel light. I shoot raw and edit all my shots in Photoshop. In terms of quality, size and weight, I think the body and lens are made for each other. So far I haven't had a single complaint about this lens. Compact and lightweight, it features a metal zoom mount and focus rings that work smoothly and reliably. It focuses quickly and close enough to photograph garden flowers and similarly sized objects. Stabilization works as promised, with a few f-stop boost. There is also nothing to complain about in terms of quality. So far I have not enlarged it beyond 12" x 18", but the prints made on the Epson 3800 printer are beautiful. Lab tests and expert reports show that this lens is clearly better than the 14-42mm zoom. Along with the 45-200mm zoom, this is a very well balanced, small, light and fun camera system that is excellent value for money. As usual, try it in your hands if you can before you buy it. Beautiful photos.
