I bought these for three reasons: 1) to keep my feet warm; especially for a Christmas trip to Vegas (it can get cold there)2) For extra padding in my destination <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Keen-Womens-Bern-Baby-Casual/dp/ B003O2SGK2 " ="_blank">Keen boots</a> that are not half sizes. 3) In addition to my REI hiking socks. They're outrageously expensive for a couple. Number one worked well, although not as well as my REI socks. These (REI socks) absorb more moisture than these, but they're still pretty good in terms of moisture wicking. At least compared to normal cotton socks. Anyway, this is directly related to keeping my feet warm, which was achieved when the temperature dropped to 28 degrees at night. The padding was great too. They offer at least 3/16 inch (or 3 cm) more all around. The price of these socks was great for what you get. I paid 20€ for it in the sale. Would do it again if I needed more. All in all a great purchase; the color is not girly at all; Kind of dark olive green, which is normal because they hide in their boots. One caveat: They're a little big, but washing and tumble drying solved that problem. If you want a small one, maybe you should buy an extra small one when it goes on sale? However, as mentioned, the dryer will shrink them a bit, which is good. Buy them if you want to get a good discount and fit in bigger boots!
