Review on 🐠 Bnzaq Submersible Fish Tank Aquarium Heater - Adjustable Temperature Thermostat Heater, 25W/50W/100W/150W/200W/300W by Kim Maldonado

I am writing a review for this product to clarify some of the issues raised by previous reviewers. I hope this helps to solve some problems. I bought a 50w heater for my 3 gallon betta tank. I originally used a heater without a thermostat which was totally unsatisfactory so this was a step up. It works. BUT. Understanding the controls required a little experimentation. While this heater does what it's supposed to do and maintains the set temperature, finding the perfect spot for your aquarium will take some experimentation. And you need a separate thermometer to check the temperature. (I bought a cheap one that mounts on the outside of the tank and is pretty accurate). Fahrenheit and the right side shows Celsius. In the center (inside the black box) are circles representing the temperature settings, starting at 20°C/68°F below and gradually increasing to 34°C/93°F. All circles are silver when the heater is set to its lowest temperature, but if you turn the red knob on top of the unit clockwise, the settings will turn red as the temperature rises. Ideally, you would settle on the desired temperature for your aquarium and that would be it. In my experience, however, I have to set the temperature a little lower. (Just under 76F in my case to keep the tank at 78F). This is a fresh water tank in my kitchen, out of direct sunlight. It is now July and the room temperature is hovering between 72-76F with the air conditioning on. The room temperature affects the water temperature, so keep this in mind when adjusting the settings. According to previous reviewers' comments, the red handle is very tight, requiring a small pair of pliers to turn it (in my case). It's a minor inconvenience in my opinion, but worth noting. In general I am satisfied with this product. I will also add some photos that you might find helpful as well. Unfortunately I had to downgrade my rating from 4 to 1 star as this heater stopped working 2 days ago. Exactly 1 week after the return window closed! This is frustrating to say the least! Hope my experience helps someone else.
