PROS:* Looks great.* Highly customizable.* Place commands where you want them to appear on screen.* You can simulate any command on any remote.* You can learn commands that aren't in stored in the Logitech database. by juxtaposing the 880 remote with your remotes. * Screen function with 4 buttons on the left and 4 more on the right is a great idea. and the volume up and down buttons control my big screen tv. this. Any button can control any device you want. CONS: * Programming requires internet connection and USB cable. Software for programming and setting up the console. It's a bit confusing at first. It's not entirely intuitive. * Not as comfortable to hold and press as most of my original remotes. I think the remote control needs to be a bit bigger (because of my big hands). *Currently, macros are not allowed, but according to reports on websites, Logitech will add this to its software in the near future. *The buttons in the middle of the remote should be a bit bigger (left-right arrows, device, media)* Two weeks later I still don't know what the MEDIA button does.* I don't know how long the little skinny one rectangular battery holds. I wonder how much time and money it will take to get a replacement in the future. * Too much glass around the screen. Each time I press the button next to the screen, I press the left-right arrow to change the functions assigned to the on-screen buttons, etc. Fingerprints and smudges remain on the glass. Very noticeable. I clean this remote every day just to get rid of the stains. A really nice universal remote that can mimic any button on any of your original remotes - even the remote for your rotating room fan or ceiling fan. Simply take the make and model numbers of your devices and enter them into the software. You definitely have to be patient. I'm a total computer geek and even I get confused sometimes. You'll have to reprogram the remote a few times to simulate each button and also to have the buttons next to the screens show the commands in the order you want them to appear. I've reprogrammed mine about 15 times to get it exactly how I want it. You are not limited to just 8 button functions next to the screen. Just use the left-right arrows to get to the next screen and you have 8 more functions besides the buttons. If these 8 are not enough, you can press the left-right arrows again and program 8 more functions. One of my remotes has 7 pages of button functions. And even more could be adjusted as I programmed. I just discovered that I can switch from "Actions" mode to "Devices" mode and back to "Actions" mode just by continuing to press the "Devices" button. I like this feature.[.]GENERALLY IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU HAVE PATIENCE, IT IS NOT EASY TO CONFUSE WITH GADGETS, CAN USE YOUR COMPUTER COMFORTABLY AND WANT A REMOTE CONTROL THAT CAN SIMULATE ANY KEY ON ANY OF YOUR ORIGINAL PUBS. You decide.
