Yes I had the same as others. The thick end just fell out because it was badly glued. Metal is glued to metal. Seriously, who makes something this solid and then glues the essentials together? The end should have been screwed into the body of the monopod and not glued. Crashing my Hero 8 Black. I am angry. Luckily I have insurance for my GoPro. First review below. I bought it because I found regular tripods too bulky for my specific needs. I wanted something for my Madventure 360 camera to minimize the use of a tripod in the photo. The 360 degree camera has a regular 1/4" thread on the bottom. Since I don't use it as a monopod per se, I find folding the monopod over is the best solution. Both ends of this 3/8" I used a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter (look for Sunmn's 1/4" and 3/8" Converter Screw Adapter Assembly Kit) on the lower/thicker end , to make it a 3/8" female thread 1/4" female thread. This allows me to attach a small, low tripod - in my case it's a DJI Osmo tripod, occupying a small area. The top/ I used thin ends with the included 3/8" adapters and 1/4" for the camera connection. The only downside to this setup is that it has to be level to get a good photo, but after trying all sorts Tried weak selfie sticks etc for my 360 photos I think this is the best setup so far (unless I want to be in the photo) The monopod is very light, well made and durable.
