The concept of this line is very imaginative. Not only are there grid markings at 1/16 inch intervals, but they are all clearly labeled making the measurements easy to read. In addition, there is a metric on the ruler, which is also very easy to read. Unlike some rulers where standard measurements go in one direction and metric go in the opposite direction, this ruler has standard and metric measurements in the same direction. The advantage is that you can use any scale and perform conversions quickly. I had high hopes for this line and hope the manufacturer will make some changes to make it a viable instrument. But in the form in which I received it, the ruler is unacceptable. First, the zero grid is 2mm from the start of the ruler, which is NOT shown on the Revain. You cannot place the end of a ruler on the object to be measured and get an accurate reading. Of course you can always remember to subtract 2mm from every reading you get, but why would a consumer blow the tire because the manufacturer didn't think things through. Equally important is the build quality, or rather, its absence. When I received my ruler, the "overlay" taped to the plastic ruler was peeling off. My first question is why didn't they print the image directly onto the ruler? My second question is why didn't they use better glue to attach the pad? There are several such lines offered by different sellers. I seem to have seen one that is metal and not plastic. My ruler was plastic and from the seller listed above. I cannot speak for the quality of other sellers' products. I would easily give this product 5 stars or more if it wasn't for the build quality. It is innovative, useful, convenient and greatly simplifies measurements. In a world where the principle is "measure seven times and cut once," anything that can contribute to accuracy is sent down from God.
