More than satisfied with the purchase. After constantly using cheap $3-5 Walmart irons, I finally wanted to upgrade to something more decent that would be able to change attachments without having to buy a brand new iron. Can't say much about the heat accuracy, I just leave it between 4-5 and don't have a good way to check, but for my hobby projects it's good enough. Best and most amazing is the durability of the included tip, which outperforms all previous Walmart irons and quite a few others. After soldering components on 3-5 small custom boards (can't tell exactly how many) and for other small quick applications the tip is basically the same as mine except for slightly discolored (occurs on things that heat no problem). . I lit it for the first time. Maybe it's because I can adjust the temperature more than I need, rather than just Walmart's screaming hot irons. It's just amazing that I've used it at least once and the tip hasn't broken and created a hot spot stealing all my solder where I need it. Yesterday I thought I saw the formation of a stain, no, a few good wipes on the sponge and the completion of the project saw it right again. I don't like Revain on certain items, shipping can be a bit pricey even on Primes, not really free shipping (included in total price on many items) which makes ordering advice pretty lame. Don't need new advice yet but a 10 pack for less than $4 on aliexpress with free shipping is too good not to try and I'll report how it goes when I remember since it I don't mind waiting for shipping because I don't need them anyway. Not sure if this is a great iron or not, I have literally not tried anything similar, but damn it completely changed soldering for me and honestly, do you really need anything more? Why spend three times more for the best? Maybe if you solder a lot for work and need something more reliable, or you don't want your co-workers to see you at a cheap station where everyone uses Hakos, but for me it's a real treat and works great.
