Review on Wilton Recipe Right Non Stick 13 Inch by Sean Chase

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Coating is peeling, rusting and description not as advertised

I bought this item a year ago because it was a non-stick casserole dish. The pan worked fine for a while. When I recently baked, refrigerated, and removed a batch of brownies, I noticed that some of the brownies had pan coating stains on the bottom, rendering them inedible. As I was rinsing the pan, I noticed that another part of the pan had lost its coating and rust had formed on the pan. This pan comes with a 5 year guarantee so I contacted the manufacturer and they told me "Please note that Wilton pans are intended for baking and any other food source will only affect the coating. We recommend using parchment paper. Wilton pans don't burn, they need to be sprayed with cooking spray or covered in grease and flour. Please send us a photo of the form as Wilton requires proof of purchase and we are happy to exchange the pan once. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks to receive. Please note that no matter how hard we try to ship the same size, it may be a different pan than you have. "I was surprised to learn that their non-stick pan doesn't stick even though it has a non-stick coating. I used Pam but the leakage still came out and got into the food. The description goes on to say that this item can be used for brownies, cakes, lasagne, casseroles, but the rep says it's for baking only. I have not abused this pan at all and use plastic or silicone tools with it. But the coating is clearly failing and peeling off in the food. I gave it a 2 because it lasted a year. Update: Today 7/4/16 I received a replacement frying pan from Wilton. The item is the same size, darker finish and carries a 10 year warranty versus a 5 year warranty. I have upgraded my rating from 2 to 3 stars for their customer service.
