In my use and therefore I find it the perfect companion for the Nikon D90 camera. This lens is suitable for almost all your photographic needs, whether you are an amateur or semi-professional photographer. The Tokina 11-16mm lens can complement your lens needs if you like wide-angle photography. By leaving a lens on the camera you're always ready for a great photo opportunity as you don't have to attach and detach lenses which over time expose the camera mirror to more dust/dirt and require more frequent cleaning. . This lens is just a great addition to the D90 and a huge benefit. Over time I may add 1 or maybe 2 more lenses. But honestly, this lens is a great first investment. It has vibration dampening built in. You can choose Auto, and yet a simple movement of the cuff allows for instant manual focus without having to toggle the selector switch between manual and auto modes. In addition, there is a switch for normal and active mode. Active mode is great for capturing things as you pan through footage. This eliminates the motion blur that would otherwise occur. The new lens no longer suffers from the "lens creep" sometimes reported in the past, no matter what focal length is set. My lens always works perfectly. Buy a UV filter for B+W multi-coated lenses. It's available here at Revain through Adorama for around $60. DO NOT skimp on the filter. You've invested heavily in a great camera and lens. So invest in a quality filter. You'll regret spending money on a crappy cheap filter with poor coverage. Your photos will suffer greatly. Do not do that. I tried a cheap filter I had a while back. It wasn't worth it. I quickly ordered a B+W filter. A good filter should be quiet and not interfere with your photos. I don't even know if I have it. He quietly does what he was bought to do. I won't go into filters. Conclusion: A great first (and possibly last) lens you will need. The price is fair for what you get in terms of form, function, performance and value. Nikon products tend to hold their value quite well too. Highly recommended.
