Used twice a day for two different purposes. Put the chains behind the 4x4, centered high in the snow, slightly off-road, the car was able to get traction and come back. Gotreads saved them as there were no lifting hook points on the car. I used them as a positioning device in my Jeep as I drove down the hill toward the trees under two feet of snow. I set the front wheels to 4WD in the desired direction. I walked up the hill and rearranged the tracks several times until I got flipped. I could have used my winch for positioning but the chains did the job just fine.
