Didn't work this time

I have purchased this collar several times and have used it on our dogs. Earlier collars always worked wonders. Absence of ticks almost immediately after attachment to dogs. The last two collars didn't work at all, not even a little. I am very disappointed as I have previously praised and recommended this brand. Not sure if it was a bad batch or if the formula was changed. I also have to say that we didn't do anything differently, the collars never got wet and were put on our dogs correctly.
