Is there a hot tub to drain off?

I needed a submersible pump for my portable spa. Saving it with buckets is something for the birds and this little guy seemed perfect for the task. At first I was shocked that the description says nothing about a fully submersible pump. Luckily, it can be fully submerged in water. At my old house I had a large hot tub with a 1/2 horsepower submersible pump that I used to drain and I didn't notice any difference in the amount of water. could drain compared to my old 1/2 hp pump. Overall, it took about 20 minutes to empty the portable hot tub. A 25ft hose was attached to it and did a fantastic job of pouring out a great jet of water. Once the water was under the pump's black cap I noticed the pressure drop so I changed the hose to a shorter one and it worked like a champ. In fact, the flow of water was so strong that it left several holes in my lawn. The pump drained all but about 1/2 gallon of water, and I suspect that because the portable hot tub bottom was vinyl, it pulled on the bottom. Whirlpool against the suction line and prevents the pump from removing the last piece. I'm very happy with this pump, especially for the price, I don't think anyone can do better than this aluminum case pump. It connects directly to your garden hose and also has a larger 1 1/4" pipe nozzle. The power cord is long enough to protect the plug from water and possible electric shock. This is a small dynamo that will last for years. The Best of all, the manufacturer's website includes both a support phone number and a tech support number, which is a rarity these days!
