Our home's previous owners installed a second water heater, but the old one has recently started leaking somewhere at the base. Knowing it was on its last legs but still having a fully working heater, I bought it to have on hand just in case. The leak resulted in me having to remove the old tank. With this connection, I was able to remove the old tank from my lines in about 15 minutes. I'm sure with soldering or some other method it would take 3 or 4 hours of work. ***Get a removal tool if you need to make adjustments***
