Failed too soon!

I saw this heater at a friend's and decided to buy it because I needed it anyway. When it first came out I used it as a fan for the first two days because it was very hot for autumn and suddenly it got cold. When I first used this unit as a heater it immediately started smoking which caused my smoke alarm to go off. I had to turn it off before the entire building fire alarm went off. And even after it was turned off, my room still smelled like I had burned something in it for hours. This malfunction only occurred on my THIRD use of this device. I'm sending it back and expecting a full refund.
