This wire stripper was used to strip over 4000 feet of wire from #14 through 4/0, solid and stranded. The smaller strand (#14 - #10) if the depth was not set correctly would cut into the strands and you would end up with small pieces of strands when stripping. The only other thing to do was make sure the wire didn't have any kinks, especially on the smaller wire (#14 - #10) as this could cause the wire to pop out of the groove and dent bring the wire back into the groove . cutting groove. Another thing that could cause the wire to pop out of the groove was trying to run the wire through the stripper quickly, slowly and steadily, this worked great. One mistake I initially made was installing the guide plate incorrectly and it would bounce against the cutting disc and prevent it from rotating. Make sure that the wire guide plate is not moved inwards but to the side.
