I was thrilled with this purchase and thought I had completed my research. According to reviews, it was easy to set up and worked right away. This was not my experience. The printer was returned after four hours of trying to install and troubleshoot; Two of those four hours were connected to my desktop remote connection by an HP technician while we both worked to troubleshoot printer connectivity issues. He couldn't solve the problem. Highlights: 1. The need to use a USB connection to set up wireless printing. Why? The thing is, it's wireless, right? In any case, I wasn't expecting to do the same wired installation on all the devices in my house.2. After installing the program, I couldn't "find" the printer, mainly because it kept turning off. Multiple times. It didn't really stay on, and sometimes it was on when the power light was off, but sometimes it wasn't. So it's absolutely impossible to tell if something was turned on or off. While trying to find troubleshooting information, I suddenly and furiously realized that this was an HP product. Its my fault. I didn't know HP bought Samsung. I bought a Samsung to replace an HP product which after a year and a half of trouble free printing decided not to connect to anything (despite all indications that it was connected and no changes were made to the system or network). I plan on taking the old printer out into the yard and "blasting office distances" with a baseball bat as nobody at HP seems to be able to help me. So new printer. And hey, surprise, I accidentally fell into the HP trap again. HP computers are fine. HP printers are flimsy, unsupported crap.4. The installer did not recognize the serial number of its product. So this is the thing. I don't know what that means, but it's one thing. And it happened. Troubleshooting on the HP website also didn't recognize the serial number and provided limited information without it. Does that mean it's fake? I have no idea.5. It took me about an hour to give up and contact HP customer service. Surprise! The phone lines are closed on weekends and the troubleshooter is useless AF.6. I finally reached live chat support. Luckily the technician on duty didn't treat me like an idiot (that happens). We went through a list of things I had already tried and I reluctantly decided to give him remote access to my computer. I hate resorting to it. I hate it! 7. I fiddled with the settings for two hours, I was disappointed with the automatic shutdown. Eventually, it printed a test page when connected to a desktop via USB, but we didn't see any Wi-Fi issue. The printer DOES NOT USE me as a wired printer.8. After four hours of trying to get the printer to do its only job - print wirelessly - we gave up. The technician didn't know what to do next, so I thanked him and said everything was ready. I deleted, corrected the settings we changed and requested a refund.9. Note the irony of having to print a return label for the printer. I sent it to a friend and asked him to print it out. I am not laughing. Trying to get this stupid printer to work on an HP desktop computer running Win10 was ridiculous. I lost 4 hours of my life and a trip to and from the UPS store to return it to Revain. Now I have to find another option and again I don't have a printer.
