Flat magnets, no "blocks "

The description is pretty obscure and I wouldn't buy this product if I knew what it really is. I received the magnetic version (not the plastic version) and given the pictures and the term "blocks" written all over the packaging I figured they were REAL blocks like the plastic blocks but with a magnetic side in case anyone found them want to use this way. . Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found that they were flat magnets, the same thickness as the cheap magnets that manufacturers give you as promotional items. Even the "cube" that's supposed to represent 1000 is a flat magnet that's pulled to look three-dimensional. I keep them and my kid uses them but if the description was clearer I would DEFINITELY buy the plastic instead.
