In general, the monitor is not bad. I love everything about it except one thing that is REALLY disappointing. This monitor has a "sharpness" setting that cannot be turned off. Setting it to 50% leaves subtle halos around the edges, and reducing it to 40% (the next lower setting) slightly blurs the edges of the shapes horizontally. Being able to set the sharpness to around 45% seems to solve this problem, although it is not possible to reach this value. I'd hope I just caught a monitor with a hardware failure that's shifting the correct setting by about 5%, but that's probably unlikely. Although most people will never notice this, working with some of the images reveals this flaw. Check out the "sharpness" test on the Lagom LCD test page. My monitor looks like the image is "too high" or "too low" depending on the sharpness setting. As someone who enjoys doing some graphic design once in a while, a monitor that has taken the time to artificially sharpen a purely digital signal is a real disappointment. Especially since the other monitors I've used, which were LESS expensive and made from cheaper hardware, had better image sharpness (no artificial sharpness). The colors and viewing angles on this monitor are really very good. The IPS glow is present as expected, but very subtle, which is nice. Ironically, the main reason I even considered a Dell monitor in the first place was because other Dell monitors I've used in the past have passed the "sharpness" test with flying colors. I've been using it for a week now and I'm still wondering if it's worth looking for a replacement. While I like everything else about the monitor, this shortcoming is simply disappointing.
