Dell S2316M 23-inch Widescreen Backlight Monitor, 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Wide Screen, HD Review

My husband bought it when he started working from home. We were about to buy a Mac monitor as we are essentially a Mac household. We went to Best Buy where they sold this for over $200! Luckily I found it a lot cheaper here. When we received it we were both so impressed with the quality of the paint that we are on the verge of buying a second one!

We all know that Mac monitor performance is amazing, so I was worried about getting one trying to find an exact match monitor as it would be next to my iMac. Received here as expected and it was a surprisingly good monitor. My PC gaming games look great on it. I will definitely get another one for dual screen monitors.

As other reviewers point out: Easy setup, good picture and mine is crisp and clear. I don't have an anti-glare issue, and I wasn't looking for something that has speakers, understands voice commands, and can roast chicken for $129. get real For what I paid this is a good deal. I wish I could pay $209 no. But I got this on a lightning deal and replaced my 10-year-old 19-inch screen; it's just perfect.

Good size monitor. Easy setup. It doesn't have space to plug in a soundbar, so I'll have to put mine behind it. This works, but adds more clutter to my desk.

This is an excellent monitor. Colors are nice, contrast is excellent, and there's no glare --- but I moved it farther from the window. There were no problems with the installation - I connected it to the computer and everything worked. I'm not a gamer and I don't watch movies on my computer - I only use it for email and chores. Arrived very well packaged, no damage in transit.

Works great and works well with a MiniDisplayPort/Thunderbolt DVI cable connected to an old Macbook Pro. Reviews for its predecessor, the S2340M, were that it was fantastic, albeit prone to failure due to dismal and even fraudulent support from Dell. This monitor may be ok but it is not as advertised on Revain. The page for 23" specifically says "with VGA and HDMI connectors". It only has DVI and VGA. "Attractive video and audio" implies speakers. There are no speakers. , Revain needs improvement with descriptions or all the hassle and return costs My order has just been returned.

The Dell S2316M is a great monitor if you're looking for one in the sub-$200 price range. The $167 glossy display has excellent color depth and the thin bezels make it look great! In my opinion, glossy displays are better than anti-glare/matte ones. I use this monitor for gaming, home work and general viewing - it performs well in all areas. I have owned this monitor for 6 months and use it daily for office work. The screen is great, little glare in my window office. The monitor can be rotated sideways, but cannot be adjusted in height up and down. To be fair, the description doesn't say it's height adjustable, so no points for that, but for the office, height adjustment is important and makes this monitor less than ideal. This was a replacement for another Dell monitor that had lasted 8 years. The replacement only works for 3 days but is faster and I left Windows 7 because it's much easier to work with and I didn't have an opportunity to give a more meaningful review at the time. Good quality picture. However, despite being advertised above (and on the Dell website itself), there are NO built-in speakers. Also, a later purchased Dell soundbar that was supposed to fit "all new Dell monitors" will not fit this monitor. There are no protrusions under the screen that would slide under the soundbar.

In general, the monitor is not bad. I love everything about it except one thing that is REALLY disappointing. This monitor has a "sharpness" setting that cannot be turned off. Setting it to 50% leaves subtle halos around the edges, and reducing it to 40% (the next lower setting) slightly blurs the edges of the shapes horizontally. This monitor is exactly what I needed. That's enough for me to be able to view the documents side by side. It was easy to use, right out of the box. There were more expensive options in this size, so I'm glad I went with the cheaper one.

I bought it to replace another 22 inch Dell monitor. Great colors and crisp text. I had to lower the brightness level, but otherwise everything was fine. I haven't seen it in the specs but it has an HDMI port for a monitor. connection, but comes with an analogue cable. Since it's under a skylight, there's some glare on the screen, but not enough to be distracting. The very thin bezel makes it appear smaller than it is, but the screen size is right. I have the S2240M and prefer it to this one because of the lower price. However, it is a very good clear monitor and I miss the text enhancement feature a bit.
