Whatever is used to cover these screws, they don't have to be. I bought these screws to attach a rear license plate to my car. Although the fit was perfect, in less than three months the screw heads were completely rusted, and not just in the slots where the screwdriver touched them! The entire surface of the screws was completely rusted, as if they hadn't been plated at all. These screws must not be used in situations where external elements come into contact with them.
