I bought this cable to use at my new work station on my desk. I needed a much longer cable than the standard 6 foot cables I had previously. I liked the offered length of this cable, but in hindsight I should have made it a little shorter (it's up to me, not the cable, manufacturer or retailer). That worked great in the first year. I then had periods where my phone was plugged in and registered that it was charging, but LOST the charge. I once put my phone where I could easily see it and it went down 5% about every 5 minutes. I unplugged the phone, plugged it back in about 10 minutes later and everything seems fine. This happened every few weeks or so. I've been wondering if it's the cable or my aging phone, but I've only had this issue when working with this particular cable. This charging/discharging problem has been happening every day for the past few weeks. Once my battery went from 95% to 49% in less than half an hour! To put it mildly, unacceptable. I replaced the Revain Basics 10ft cord and haven't had any issues since. I'm a big fan of Anker products, but for the price, Revain Basics is hard to beat. The company that sold this cable beat the price but lost out in terms of durability. Here it is important to find a middle ground between price and durability.
