No auto-off alarm

In 1995 we bought our first Bose Wave radio. It was so satisfying that a few years later we bought a new model with a CD player. Both radios have served us admirably over the years. The alarm clock on our old radio recently rang. I contacted Bose expecting to send it in for fix. 1) Bose Technical Support is located in the Philippines and although they are very polite and speak understandable American English, they solved the problem very poorly. In the end, the guy found out that the alarm was broken. 2) Bose no longer makes parts for the old car. I wasn't happy that the old trusty Bose radio was no longer supported. However, the radio has given us 27 years so I ordered a new Bose Wave Radio IV which arrived yesterday. Setup isn't as intuitive as the old model, but takes no more than 10 minutes. Disappointment came this morning. The clock radio went off just in time, but two hours later I went upstairs and found the radio still on. After reading and re-reading the manual, I called Bose. The nice young people in the Philippines were completely unsatisfactory in dealing with my request. How do I set an alarm to go off after about an hour? 3) It took 4 calls to determine that Bose removed this simple feature from this radio. You have to turn off the radio manually. I suppose the radio could turn on and play for two full weeks on vacation if we don't manually turn off the alarm.
