Review on 🐝 Honeywell Ademco 5800CO Wireless CO Detector: Cutting-Edge Electrochemical Sensing Technology by Jason Cavett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as advertised. The price is insane for fantasy.

Works as advertised. The price of a fancy fire alarm is insane, but $90 is still cheaper than what the alarm company was offering. Another major disadvantage is that it requires programming with Honeywell central panels. The current panels seem very easy to program, but the old ones weren't that easy. Older ones require you to pull the battery tab on the detector for it to work. Then on the control panel, find the old one in the list. From there you simply change the serial number of the existing entry, save and close. Easier said than done, but much easier than creating a new entry and deleting the old one. It took security guard 5 minutes to swap out 3 detectors (minimum $79 maintenance fee). I guess I'm just bitter that this device is so expensive and I had to pay someone to install it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some issues
