I bought this short antenna to try on UV-82 MK5 and BTECH MURS-V1. RX/TX are just as good as the standard ducks that came with radios and sometimes better. I'm relatively new to radio so maybe I'm expecting too much, but I've found this antenna to be extremely vulnerable to outside influences, especially physical interference. If I press the antenna's rubber casing or put my finger on it, the radio stops receiving. I discovered this when my radio fell on my desk with the antenna oriented so the end was against the wall. It's not the end of the world as I don't usually go around tugging at the antenna, but I've never experienced such complete degradation with any other radio or antenna. *** Another inexperienced radio amateur is here. Take it with a grain of salt.
