Short antenna love!

Fits my UV5R perfectly and does the job perfectly! I'm not concerned with maximum range. so it works as expected! Many Thanks

Pros

Cons

Happy with my purchase

Bought to work with a Btech Murs 1 walkie talkie It appears to be a well made product and the size and flexibility of this antenna seems to keep my walkie talkie from getting stuck in my shirt or things around tangled me around So far I like this antenna a lot more than the ones that come with walkie talkies.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Clarity

Works as it should! fits accessory

This is a plug that works great. I actually use it on my Jeep (cut the thread for SMA 1/4-36) as an AM/FM antenna. Works almost like stick. It's good if you have a roof rack/crossbar and antenna that sticks out too high. I crushed him pretty well with the mattress and he bounced right back!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Protection

Nice and compact in antennas

I use this on a Baofeng UV-5R portable radio. The standard antenna only seemed to work when I held it with my hand, so I decided to replace it with a shorter one. At the moment it works much better than the normal one, the reception is good and clear, so is the transmission. Definitely a good fit if you're looking for a smaller antenna.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Some little things

Better than the "short " Kenwood antenna!

My Kenwood TK-380 radio is over 17 years old. I ruined 3 standard Kenwood tall antennas, 2 small "short" Kenwood antennas and was in dire need of a new replacement. Fed up with getting the same excuses from an "authorized repair shop" near my place of work, I decided to buy my own with my own money. I paid 0.99 cents! It's soft and very flexible - which is exactly what Kenwood antennas don't have! The reception is clear and came out loud and clear! Very happy with this purchase!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

IF YOU WANT TO DESTROY YOUR RADIO, BUY THIS ANTENNA!

After receiving this antenna, I checked the SWR with a multimeter. This was about 1:16, meaning most of the RF is bouncing back toward the end of your radio, causing it to overheat and break down quickly. For comparison, I attached a thin whip antenna that I bought. It had an SWR of 1:1, meaning all RF power was radiated through the antenna and not reflected back into the radio. (see pics) This was at 438,500, which should have been within range of that stub antenna. Long story short, it goes…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Happy with the antenna.

I bought this short antenna to try on UV-82 MK5 and BTECH MURS-V1. RX/TX are just as good as the standard ducks that came with radios and sometimes better. I'm relatively new to radio so maybe I'm expecting too much, but I've found this antenna to be extremely vulnerable to outside influences, especially physical interference. If I press the antenna's rubber casing or put my finger on it, the radio stops receiving. I discovered this when my radio fell on my desk with the antenna oriented so the

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
