Review on 🚿 Enhance Your Shower Experience with the KES Brass Shower Arm Diverter Valve – Universal Chrome Replacement Component for Handheld and Fixed Shower Heads (PV14-CH) by Evan Calvert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality far exceeds the price.

This is one of the few items on the retail market that seems to give you more than you pay for. This is a solid and very well made bypass valve. A valve of the same quality from a company like Delta will cost you four times more than this. I used the valve in my parents' master bathroom to install a dual shower head. That works great. No leakage. Made from high quality brass and much cheaper than similar products from other brands. With the diverter you can switch between the main shower, hand shower or both at the same time. The only thing I don't like about this diverter is that it has to produce a two ended female configuration as this eliminates the need for a 1/2. 2 female couplings, but that doesn't really matter. definitely not enough to launch a product at such a price point that the quality far outweighs the price. If you are fitting a diverter to an existing sleeve coming from the wall and fitting the shower head directly onto the male thread, you will not need an adaptor. I didn't want to use it that way for two reasons. First, because if you use a large shower head, e.g. B. an 8" or large rain shower head, it will be difficult to access the switch as it is located directly behind the shower head. I also wanted the hose from the hand shower to hang as close to the wall as possible. So I decided to replace my existing shower bracket with a 4 inch straight pipe coming out of the wall. I then attached the female end of the diverter to this nipple and used a coupler on the threaded male end of the diverter so I could attach my main shower holder and main shower head attached to it. This moves the diverter closer to the wall so your handheld shower hose sits snugly against the wall and also hangs straight down at a 90 degree angle without getting in the way. B. when not in use. This also makes the switch easier to access than directly behind the shower head. If you choose this configuration, you will need to purchase a 1/2" female adapter. This must also be marked with the flow direction of the water. I had to learn this the hard way by putting the thing on backwards and then taking it all apart to flip it. Not that big of a problem either, but for those who are going to buy this item. The direction of water flow is from the female end to the other end. If you adjust the water flow from the male end to the female end, it works, but only the main shower head or both shower heads can be used in this configuration. From the female end to the male end, you can use the main shower head, the shower head, or both. So basically you're going to put the female end of the diverter valve on the shower head coming off the wall so the water flow goes in the right direction for this thing to work properly. Overall a great product.
