Review on Exploding with Excitement: Unleashing the Power of Explosive Eighteen by Mark Powell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

i am loyal but it gets boring.

I still love this series but I'm definitely not as quick to jump on it as I used to be. After 18 books, there is little that is new or fresh in them. In fact, it becomes completely redundant. How many cars will be blown up? How will she escape the last jump? How many donuts or buckets of chicken will she and Lulu eat? Who will she or Lulu shoot this time? How ridiculous is Lulu's latest outfit/diet/boyfriend? How many times will Ranger and/or Joe save her and who (or both) will she sleep with? Your mother will iron, cook, drink and worry. Your father will hide in the living room or ignore everyone at dinner. And Grandma Mazur will do inappropriate things at the funeral and generally shock. Oh, and someone, or maybe a few people, is about to break into her apartment. Connie will file her nails, Vinnie will be suspected of heinous acts involving farm animals, and Joyce will back and forth as needed. Serious. If you tell the same joke 18 times, don't be surprised if your audience just yawns. I used to gulp them down like candy, but lately I've found that they're not at the top of my list anymore. And yet they are still above the $9.99 benchmark. I think I'll start borrowing them from the library instead of paying for them.
