I don't know why anyone would be confused about the size of this lampshade - the measurements are in the description. Yes, it's a slight shade compared to many other pendant lights. As a result, this shade is not "suitable for universal pendant lights" as stated in the description. I was unable to find a suitable pendant light that would fit the 30mm hole of this lampshade at Lowe's or Home Depot. I had to go to the lighting store where the staff would place a custom order and make a hanging kit to match the shade. In addition, one of the two umbrellas ordered was defective - the mounting hole was not in the middle, so it was tilted when hanging on the ceiling. However, we were able to send it back via UPS (shipping pays seller) and received a new one in the mail 2 days later. Once you get a good shade and the right fixation, it can look really good. There are many different brands of pendant lights and several "standard" sizes. I would recommend finding an acceptable fixture that fits the 30mm lampshade opening first.
